Located in the heart of eastern North Carolina, the community of Farmville has proudly hosted the Farmville Dogwood Festival for the past 32 years. The festival is held each April on the town commons. The manicured lawn of the commons is dotted with stately oaks, azaleas, dogwoods and a burst of color from annuals and perennials. Visitors make an annual pilgrimage to Farmville to reunite with family and friends.
It is with great disappointment that we must announce the 2020 Farmville Dogwood Festival has been officially cancelled for April 23rd-26th. The Dogwood Festival has served as the signature event for the Farmville Community for the past 32 years. Every spring, it has been an opportunity to highlight the amazing attributes of Farmville and its citizens. Because of its impact to our community, this was a very difficult decision for the committee.
The safety of the patrons, vendors, volunteers and Town staff was paramount in arriving at this announcement. Ultimately, we are following the guidance of the Governor’s recent Executive Order regarding COVID-19 on banning of mass gatherings over 50 people.
At this time, our thoughts are with you. Stay safe and thank you for your continued support of the Farmville Dogwood Festival. See you in 2021!
