About
Farmville Dogwood Festival

For 37 years, the Farmville Dogwood Festival has welcomed families, friends, and returning visitors to the heart of eastern North Carolina for a spring homecoming that has become a defining tradition for the community. Held each April on the town commons, the festival unfolds across manicured lawns framed by stately oaks, blooming dogwoods, azaleas, and vibrant seasonal flowers. Recognized by the Library of Congress as a legacy festival, it reflects Farmville’s long-standing commitment to celebrating creativity, heritage, and togetherness. At the center of the festival grounds stands the Arts and Crafts Pavilion, where carefully selected artisans from across eastern North Carolina showcase woodworking, stained glass, pottery, jewelry, photography, and other handcrafted works that highlight the region’s artistic talent.

Surrounding the pavilion, the commons come alive with activity that blends tradition, entertainment, and community spirit. Local musicians perform throughout the day at the gazebo, creating a steady soundtrack for festivalgoers, while children enjoy free crafts, games, face painting, and balloon art at the Kids Cool Fest tent. Food vendors line the streets with regional favorites, and commercial and craft booths fill the sidewalks and town hall parking lot.

Friday evening brings live music to the streets of downtown Farmville, offering a lively kickoff to the weekend. Behind the town hall, rides provided by Michaels Amusements offer fun for all ages, and on Saturday night, the Horne Avenue field becomes the setting for the festival’s headline musical performances. Together, these elements create a welcoming, family centered celebration that continues to bring the Farmville community and those who return year after year together in the spirit of spring.
